Glamout Shots Layout

I decided to have some fun while I was working in Torrence, CA last year by going to glamor shots. This was my first time, and I really enjoyed it. Looking at my photos recently, I decided to make some scrapbook page layouts to share with you.

I chose the page layouts online at ZScrapBook.

Scrapbook Photo Board

I know I haven't written in a couple weeks, but I'm back. I'm slowly working on this scrapbook photo board that I discussed last blog. I am taking my time with it because I know if I hurry, then it will not look right. My theme, I guess you've noticed, has been my wedding. Well, I decided to do my scrapbook photo board on my wedding. I still have a ways to go, but it's really looking good.



I am getting advice from my husband because he is very artistic. He helped me to draw and color around my photos. This will be a double effort, and I cannot wait until it's completed. He's teaching me how to trace, draw, and mix different colors to get a nice effect. Something that I really did not know how to do. I can be creative with my scrapbook, but I am happy to be learning how to draw and combine colors together like he's showing me now. As I have said before, one good thing about scrapbooking, is that you are always learning. And that is why I love it so much. READY-TO-GO SCRAPBOOK

Hello there...sorry that I have not written in a while. I have been traveling with my job. Just to remind you that I am a traveling physical therapist assistant working for Cross Country TravCorp where I travel around the United States on 3 month assignments. I really enjoy it, but it keeps me very busy. I would like to eventually just have the job of advertising and maintaining my website and this blog, but that will be later on. For now, I am going to do the best I can and have that goal in mind. Anyway, let's continue on to our next topic.
Recently, I was sent a free package in the mail from BluegrassPublishing.com on an example of a ready-to-go scrapbook. The one I got sent is called the ready-to-go Blank Board Book where you can decorate like you would a scrapbook and paste your photos and embellishments. Here is what it looks like.


It is blank like this on both sides, which I thought was really neat. There are also different sizes and shapes of these blank boards. They say you can "alter, paint, stamp, draw, journal, emboss, cut windows, embellish," and I'm sure you could do even more creative things.

They sent their "Color Made Easy" Card to help you design and create each page, and transparencies with a variety of headlines and sayings.




I thought this was a great idea to add to your scrapbook collection. I am working on mine right now, and I will show you the finished product when I complete it. New Scrapbook Wedding Album

I decided to create a new scrapbook wedding album using Shutterfly.com. I really enjoyed this site and highly recommend it as a place to organize and create your photo/scrapbook album to share with others. You can order your photos as they are, with captions, choose your borders from their selection, create and order your album you want them in, and much more. You can make calenders, cards, coffee mugs, etc. with your photos. And you can create your own web address for your photos to be shared with others online. Like I said, you can do all of this through Shutterfly.com.

New Crafts for 2007

A new year brings me excitement because of all the wonderful opportunities we have. I decided this year that I wanted to use my blog to discuss other types of crafts as well as my hobby of scrap booking. As I spent time with my nephew, Will, this past Christmas, I started to see how much he was paying attention to detail. I started surfing the net and found this neat site on children's crafts that I wanted to share with you.

The Magic Cabin is a site that I thought had wonderful children's craft ideas. I wanted to quote their mission statement to you. “Our mission is to provide quality natural-fiber dolls that represent all the colors of humanity; toys with simple designs to encourage creative, imaginative play; craft kits for all ages and abilities; and friendly, reliable service.” As you can see, they offer a variety of ways for children to learn and express themselves. I wanted to focus on the different crafts they offer. Some examples are creating a calender for 2007 where they get to draw their own pictures for each month, card-making kits, beeswax candle rolling kit, beading jewelry kits, crochet kits, and much more. A Glimpse of My Christmas

I decided I wanted to share some pictures with you from my Christmas with my family. I have not been able to have a Christmas with them in the past three years, so this was a very exciting time for me. My husband and I drove up from Orlando, FL, where I was finishing up an assignment with my job. We had three weeks off and ready for some family and down time. I got to see my immediate family and both of their sides of the families as well.

Of course, my favorite time was spending time with my nephew, Will. He is my first nephew. My sister had him in April 2006 and this is only the 3^rd time I have seen him. So here is a picture of Will and I.

Great Opportunities Offered At The National Scrapbooking Association

I have enjoyed being a member of the National Scrapbooking Association (NSA) because they offer a variety of services to a visitor and a member. There are quite a few different types of memberships: Consumer, Retailer, Service Providers, Manufacturers, and Publishers. They also have forms, galleries, affiliate programs, a campaign that promotes expanding the passion of scrapbooking, have sponsors, and offer a variety of news on scrapbooking. As you can see, there is a place for everyone to be a part of this association. I want to discuss the different types of memberships offered. I will be using some direct quotes from the NSA website so you can understand exactly what each membership offers.

A Consumer is someone who may be interested in scrapbooking or someone who enjoys scrapbooking. They want to share their ideas and layouts of scrapbooking to others who enjoy this. They can get ideas from others by getting involved in the forums, posting their layouts, and entering contests offered by NSA. They can also search through a large database of retailers and service providers that offer scrapbooking products and designs, etc. They can locate a retailer near their location and/or find a certain manufacturer that makers certain scrapbook products, designs, etc. There are so many benefits the NSA offers to a consumer such as special discounts and offers from retailers, etc.

A Retailer is a particular company or individual who wants to promote and sell their products and supplies on the NSA website. They must have a valid website and a valid tax identification/resale license that stocks for resale scrapbooking supplies. A retailer's ad/advertisement for their website will be posted in the NSA directory. They also have numerous benefits as well.

A Service Provider is "a particular company or individual who's main business is directly related to scrapbooking but are not considered a retailer or a manufacturer. Examples of NSA Service Provider Members include individuals who scrapbook for others for a fee (S4Os), representatives of direct sales companies, instructors, designers, trade show promoters, and trade associations." They too have many benefits.

A Manufacturer is a company who directly makes scrapbooking supplies. These supplies can be as simple as paper to a very detailed and/or unique item or supply that is only sold in certain stores and/or websites. Some examples of detailed or unique items could be certain embellishments, certain designs for dye cutting, and/or particular scrapbook machines, etc. A manufacturer mush have a valid tax identification number and a valid website address.

A Publisher is an individual or company that sells and distributes their books, magazines, articles, ezines, and/or newsletters, etc. on particular topics of scrapbooking. Some examples would be learning how to scrapbook, ideas on different types of scrapbooks to make, products or supplies that are popular right now in the scrapbook industry, and much more. There is so much information out there on the subject of scrapbooking because it is a craft that never ends. And this is really the best part about scrapbooking.
